A Kenyan police officer sent to Haiti as part of the International Security Assistance Mission (MSSM) has died from a shooting injury.
Godfrey Otunge, commander of the Kenyan forces in Haiti, said a shooting took place in the western part, where Kenyan police were sent to destroy Haiti gangs were conducting operations.
The officer suffered injuries during an operation in Ségur-Savien, Artibonite Department, on Sunday, February 23.
Kaetuai was transported by plane to Aspen Level 2 hospital for treatment but later died.
His death has left his family and the nation in mourning, sparking different feelings related to Kenya's participation in Haitian peacekeeping missions.

Kaetuai's house that he was building
Speaking to Citizen TV, his father Kaetuai Lesaru Salaash revealed that the 28 -year -old was in the process of building a new family home before being sent to Haiti.
The sad father expressed great sadness, saying his son had worked tirelessly to prepare his loved ones.
With a wife and two children, Kaetuai volunteered to make sure they had a better future until the shooting ended her life.
“He was pleased with the house and wanted his family to have a place where they could call it. Now, he has gone, and we do not know what will happen to his dream,” Dad said.
Kenyans mourning the death of Kaetuai in Haiti
The death of the Kajiado officer has sparked a wave of emotions across the country, with many Kenyans sending condolences to the abandoned family.
Kaetuai, who had been in Haiti for only six months before the tragic event, was the only family member employed in the household.

Kenyan officials in Haiti is facing challenges
