Anastacia Atabo Lokor conducted his examination of the Kenya Secondary Education Certificate (KCSE) in 2023 and successfully successfully.
What university was Lokor called?
The fierce girl scored B Minus in her last secondary education exams, and found a place at the university.
He was given the opportunity to join the University of Science and Technology of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga (Jooust).
However, the lack of school fees has led him to stay at home since completing his secondary studies.
Did Lokor apply for education funding, Helb?
“Right now I am doing a bicycle and selling business to earn a fee is not enough because sometimes when I also look at the home situation I have to spend some money to meet the needs of the family,” he said.
Lokor said efforts to apply for bursary have been fruitless, and he has tried his best to get financial assistance without success.
He said he requested funding for the Higher Education Credit Board (HELB), but his application was unsuccessful.
“I tried to find a scholarship, I didn't find it, I went back to my parents' house, but they have no financial capacity, they are not able to send me to school until the first term,” He said in despair.
Lokor's mother asks for help from her daughter
Lokor said he planned to continue to fetch water and sell people and spend the money to pay at least his first term but he realized it was a challenge.
Her parents noted that they had the arrears of their daughter's high school fees, which they also struggled to pay, thus not given her certificate.
“He was called to a good school, but as parents, we have no financial ability to take him there. He succeeded and got a good mark,” Selina Lobeyo, her mother Lokor, said.
The family has called on good people to support the girl to join the university after her high performance despite the challenges she faced at home including poverty.

West Pokot girl will seek money to help her join the university
Apart from, the dream of joining the university and working on a good future seemed to fade from a vibrant student from West Pokot County.
Alphine Chepkorir graduated with his Kenyan Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2023 and received a C+average score, making him qualify for the University's government funding.
He was among the ten out of 60 students in his school who qualified to receive government sponsorship.
Chepkorir applied to join various universities where Kenyan universities and university planning (KUCCPS) had set him up to join the Catholic University of East Africa- Campus Eldoret.
A few weeks after many students were eligible for various universities, the determined girl was still home because the family could not pay her.
