Why is Mutahi Kahiga upset by Kindiki
During a registration exercise of the Community Health Authority (SHA) on Wednesday, February 5, Kahiga rebuked Kindiki and his aides for ignoring him during his recent visit to Nyeri County.
Kahiga demanded more respect for county governments, emphasizing that the protocol needs to be informed about the visits of senior national government officials.

“Recently I saw the Deputy President (Kindiki) visited Nyeri. There are some people who just want to cause problems for no reason. The governor's office I hold is a vacancy voted by the public. It is important that when we find a visitor of such status in the county, we should be informed, “ Said Kahiga.
The governor of Nyeri said it was wrong for Kikiki to avoid him, while governors often attend meetings in Nairobi convened by the deputy president.
“Offices should respect each other. When they invite me to a meeting in Nairobi, don't I go? County and national governments have one main responsibility for Kenyans, which is development, ” The governor noted.
The governor, who is a close ally of the former deputy president Rigathi Gachaguahe said his county was ready to cooperate with President William Ruto's government.
He urged national government leaders to separate politics and development despite the political tensions that begin to arise between Ruto and Great towards 2027.

As previously reported, Kindiki initiated efforts to restore the popularity of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Mount Kenya.

Speaking in the Kieni area, Nyeri County, on Friday, January 31, the deputy president said he did not expect a large gathering of his speech to the public.
Kindiki not only addressed the people but also announced development plans, promising that the government would complete all incomplete roads in Nyeri County.
He defended the Ruto government, saying that road projects were delayed because the government initially gave priority to the economy and reduced the cost of living in the first two years.
