What also dominated the pages was the conflict in the reorganization of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), with pressure being exerted on the national government to open the process.
1. The Standard
The Standard newspaper highlighted the possible outcome of the meeting between former president Uhuru Kenyatta and his successor William Ruto.
The two met at Uhuru Ichaweri's home on Monday, December 9, locking themselves in a secret meeting of more than two hours.
In their respective statements after the meeting, the two leaders told the public that the agenda was about important issues of national importance.
The Standard newspaper noted that the meeting came several months after Raila Odinga claiming in August that Uhuru wanted him to involve Ruto to resolve the conflict caused by the Gen Z protests.

Many sources close to Ruto and Uhuru described the talks as a “greeting” deal.
