Journalists have been looking for a political seat, which is no secret.

Will Trevor Ombija be the MP for Nyakach?

Through his foundation, Ombija has contributed to various charity events as a way to give back to his community and lay the foundation for his political career.

As a member of the Media Council of Kenya, one is not allowed to announce one's intention for a political seat while still working, but there are ways to do it without lip service, and Ombija seems to have decided to do just that.

Speaking in Nyakach during the funeral of the senator's mother Poisonous Tom Ojienda, the journalist confirmed the rumor reports about him vying for the Nyakach parliamentary seat.

“I have apologized to my friend Tom Ojienda, I will not say much because of time, I have only two requests for the Nyakach people, let us embrace progress without chaos, the difference of ideology is not enmity, do you agree or not?” Ombija said in a video broadcast online by News One Kenya.

What was Trevor Ombija's career before fame?

As we told you earlier, the presenter worked as a conductor of three in his hometown of Nyakach for many years before becoming a celebrity on Kenyan television.

This may explain why Ombija maintains a strong relationship with the people of Nyakach, Kisumu, despite the rapid rise in journalism.
