This comes after the founders of UDA to announce plans to push for the dismissal of Gachagua and to take disciplinary action against the MPs who voted against his removal.
Why do the founders of UDA want Gachagua to be expelled from the party?
In a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke, the founders claimed that Gachagua was legally removed from office in accordance with the constitution and therefore he should be expelled from the party, thus cutting relationship his wife with him.
“While the former DP has the right to be brought to court, we as the UDA Founders Party maintain that he was properly charged and therefore he should disassociate himself from our party and cut any political ties immediately,” said part of the statement.
The founders have also asked the party to appoint the recently appointed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as its deputy leader.
They also wanted the leadership of the party to take disciplinary measures against the MPs who voted against the dismissal of Gachagua in the National Assembly despite serious charges against him.
“We are of the opinion that the parliamentarians who defended the humiliated parliamentarians brought shame and defiled the party and are guilty of the party,” said the statement.
The founders of the UDA asked the party leaders to remove anyone who tries to undermine the president's agenda or disrupt the unity of the nation, as shown by Raila Odinga.
“We demand that the party complete it options of the grassroots of the party and appoint the chief administrator of the party.”
What did Gachagua say about Ruto?
In a separate incident, Gachagua accused him Ruto for being involved in conspiracies against him.
He claimed that Ruto had enlisted MPs to remove him from office through impeachment.
Expressing his regrets to Ruto, Gachagua further reminded the president that he (Gachagua) is the main character of his (Ruto's) 2022 election.
