The outspoken MP was brutally attacked on Wednesday, April 8, during what started as a normal day in the lakeside city.

How did the attack against Osotsi happen?

According to the details of the incident, the senator had visited Westend Mall for a regular haircut before heading to a nearby restaurant, where he met a friend and interacted with the public.

It is reported that Osotsi spent about 30 minutes talking incoherently when a group of rowdy youths approached him.

Witnesses indicate that the men were armed and quickly turned confrontational, questioning his political stance.

The situation became worse when the group wanted to know why the senator opposed the re-election of the President William Ruto.

Moments later, the confrontation turned violent, with the assailants physically assaulting him before fleeing the scene.

The incident left the Vihiga MP injured, prompting an emergency flight to Nairobi for special treatment.

What will be Osotsi’s first meeting since the attack?

In a move that shows defiance, the member of parliament, who is currently receiving treatment at the Karen Hospital, said he will attend Linda Mwananchi’s public meeting there Nakuru Sunday, April 12.

His announcement comes after what many leaders and observers described as a shocking and targeted attack that has sparked national outrage and condemnation of growing political intolerance.

A few days after the incident, Osotsi seems to be recovering slowly and during a visit to the hospital by a group of young Kenyans associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, the senator was seen to be very happy, even if visible swelling remained on parts of his face.

It was during this visit that he made a statement since the attack, confirming his intention to resume political activities almost immediately.

“Fellow Kenyans, I am in the hospital, but get ready; we are coming to Nakuru. Things are ‘wantam’. Things are ‘wantam’,” Osotsi announced.

Osotsi narrates the attack against him in Kisumu?

In a related report, Osotsi claimed he was the target of a violent attack at the Java House store in Kisumu.

Speaking from a hospital in Nairobi a day later, Osotsi said the group appeared suspicious when they arrived and soon became hostile, claiming that their intention was to harm him.

He further claimed that the assailants called his name before suddenly attacking him, and accused unnamed senior security officials of being behind the incident.
