Police said the three are in custody and are being processed for arraignment in court.
The DCI added that investigations have been intensified, with detectives pursuing additional suspects believed to have been involved in the attack.
The agency thanked members of the public for volunteering information to aid the probe and urged continued cooperation as efforts to bring all those responsible to justice gather pace.
