Comedian Sammy Kioko has thanked friends, family, and villagers who gathered in large numbers at his home in Machakos to show support during his recovery.

Kioko has been recuperating at home following allegations of brutal assault by county officials.
The incident happened when he was demanding to be paid KSh 19 million in the offices of the Governor of Machakos Wavinya Ndeti.
A video from the scene captured the moment he was attacked by a group of masked men, causing him to fall to the ground before being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
How did Sammy Kioko’s community treat him?
On Wednesday, April 8, the popular comedian shared a heartfelt video on his social media, expressing his sincere thanks to everyone who came to watch him.
The video captured several touching moments of solidarity as friends and villagers filled his compound to offer their support.
In the video, Kioko, still using crutches as he recovers from the alleged assault at the county headquarters, is seen walking around his compound.
Despite the obvious pain and discomfort, he remained cheerful, warmly shaking hands with well-wishers and waving happily to the cheering crowd.
The meeting included old women from his village, local auto drivers, and young people who seemed to be his longtime friends from the area.
Many brought thoughtful gifts, including a live chicken, as a token of their care and encouragement.
In the caption accompanying the video, Kioko wrote:
“Today, my community came. They looked after me, and they lifted my spirits. The pain became a purpose. I am forever grateful.”
The outpouring of love and support seems to have boosted the comedian’s spirits considerably as he continues his journey to recovery.
