Mbavu Destroyer Sues Majemje, Oga Obinna In Sports Court After Being Assaulted

  • The case has been confirmed as urgent, and will be mentioned on April 15, with Mbavu listing what he wants from the court

In an interesting new twist, Mbavu Destroyer has now filed an appeal at the Sports Disputes Resolution Tribunal (SDT), days after losing to Majeme in a highly publicized Brute Fight.

Majembe won the fight in the Indoor Stadium Kasarani after defeating his enemy in the fourth round. The victory was highly controversial, as boxers and fans disagreed on where Majembe’s punch landed.

Mbavu has insisted that he was hit in the stomach and since then he has published videos of himself appearing to walk with difficulty.

“These days, boxing has turned into hitting people in prohibited areas. There is no problem, but you could also inform me so that I can do the same. This is not boxing,” he said after the fight.

Why has Mbavu accused Majembe?

As Eric Njiiru reports, Mbavu has gone to court and appealed to the Sports Disputes Board, asking for urgent relief orders.

Mbavu wants the result of the fight to be annulled and declared the winner, claiming that the judges made the wrong call.

The boxer who lives in Mbotela also wants the court to give him more than Ksh 2.5 million, a Toyota Voxy car worth Ksh 4 million, a Taro GP1 sports bike and the championship belt that Majembe got after winning the fight.

Mbabu has accused Majemje, Oga Obinnawho was the organizer of the fight and added the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) as an interested party.

Alleged Rib Destroyer

1. An order compelling the interested party to declare a technical decision in favor of the Plaintiff and declare him a champion of Violence.

2. An order compelling the second interested party to reverse the decision and give him the victory of the Plaintiff’s Violent struggle.

3. An order compelling the second interested party to award the Claimant the prize of the winner of the Violent fight.

4. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the interested party is obligated to declare the Violent fight a technical draw and arrange a rematch to determine the correct Violent champion.

The case is expected to be mentioned on Wednesday, April 15.
