- The Kenya Meteorological Department predicted rain in six areas from April 10 to April 14
- According to KMD, Highlands and Coastal counties are expected to experience morning showers and thunderstorms
- High temperatures are forecast to reach 38°C in some areas over the next five days
Nairobi – Some counties will receive rain in the next five days, according to the latest weather report from the Kenya Meteorological Department.

In a statement to the public, the department predicted rain in six areas, including the Northeast, from Friday, April 10, to Tuesday, April 14
“Rain is expected to continue in some areas of the Eastern and Western Rift Valley Highlands, Southern Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, Coastal and Northeastern Kenya,” Kenya Met said.

Siaya Districts, PoisonousHomabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot will receive rain in the morning until April 14.
Kenya Met has predicted rain and thundershowers at few places in the afternoon and rain at night for the next five days.

Turkana and Samburu counties will experience sunny spells on the morning of Friday, April 10; Saturday, April 11; and Tuesday, April 14.
On Sunday, April 12, and Monday, April 13, there is a possibility of rain in these counties in the morning.
It will be sunny throughout the day in Turkana and Samburu, with overnight showers expected from Friday, April 10, to Sunday, April 12.
The maximum temperature will be 37°C while the minimum temperature is expected to be 38°C.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley
Kenya Met predicted morning rains in few places in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi counties in the next five days, apart from Monday, April 13.

The weather forecaster predicts afternoon and night showers at a few places throughout the period.
In ten counties, the maximum temperature is estimated at 29°C and the minimum at 06°C.
North East
Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties will receive morning rains for the next five days according to the weather forecast.
Kenya Met has forecast morning showers at a few places in the afternoon and night, with the highest temperature expected to be 38°C.
Southeastern lowland
In the counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta, as well as the interior parts of Tana River county, the meteorologist predicted sunny spells in the morning, while rain is expected on Tuesday, April 14.
On Saturday, April 11, and Tuesday, April 14, the meteorologist said these counties will receive afternoon showers.
Over the next five days, these counties will experience rain in a few places at night, with the minimum temperature expected to be 13°C.
Beach
The meteorologist predicted morning rains in a few places in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties as well as the Tana Delta.

There is a chance of rain in a few places in the afternoon on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, while the rest of the night is expected to be partly cloudy.
KMD predicted maximum temperature of 34°C and minimum temperature of 25°C in these counties.

Have the authorities failed the residents of Nairobi?
In other news, a section of Kenyan leaders demanded an independent audit to determine the cause of the floods that killed at least 27 people in Nairobi.
Led by National Liberal Party (NLP) leader Augustus Muli and former presidential candidate Reuben Kigame, the leaders said that an investigation needs to be conducted and those behind the failed drainage systems and flood management held accountable.
Kigame said that natural disasters such as floods happen, but the magnitude of the bad floods in Nairobi already showed the failure of the county, the national government and the agencies tasked with mitigating the effects of disasters.
