What did President Ruto promise the Harambee Stars players?

The Head of State was one of the main stories of CHAN 2024making and fulfilling great promises to the team.

Ruto promised each player KSh one million for each win and KSh 500,000 for each draw in the group stage, except for the final game against Zambia, where they were given KSh 2.5 million each. In total, the players received KSh 5 million each.

On Thursday, players and members of the technical bench were shown the project by Hawa Shafi, Sales Manager at Starehe.

Some of the units, which will be fully completed in December, are fully furnished as seen in this video.

“Rais changed our lives during CHAN. We are very happy with the projects, and we are ready to keep our part of the agreement. The boys are ready,” said team captain Aboud Omar.

“It is a good project for all the players and staff. We have talked to almost all the players, and they like this project. The players have decided this is a project they want to invest in, and they want the President to support them. Now it’s just a matter of allocation and paperwork,” added team manager Nick Kimanthi.
