“This is a special day for me after a long journey that God enabled me to endure for 17 years. It is only by God’s grace that I have reached this day. During my time in prison, I prayed to God. I really needed him in my life, and he sustained me. Before this day, I made a plan with the catechist in charge of St. Louis Bungoma GK Prison so that I could be released in time to exchange marriage vows with my wife. She is the mother of my children, and today I want appreciate him. He has been patient since 2009. God’s hand has really worked,” he said.

Coleta agreed with her husband, noting that it was not easy to remain patient and faithful all those years, but in the end it was worth it.

“For 16 years, I have seen life change in so many ways. But in my heart, I believe in one thing: that we should all love each other as we love ourselves. Only then can we truly unite as one family. Today, I open my heart and say this to everyone: you are all welcome home. From my heart, thank you…Thank you so much for being here.
