This follows reports that the church, with more than 100 members, encourages members to give up jobs, property, educational opportunities, and even medical treatment in the name of religion.

A member of the faith mission of Ikhaya Labadithi boldly shared in an interview that he rejected the opportunity to study medicine in Cuba because he chose to follow Jesus Christ.

Growing up, he always dreamed of becoming a cardiologist, but that dream changed when he neared the end of his academic journey.

“When I was in Grade 10, I wanted to focus on the profession of cardiology and everything related to the human heart,” he said.

Why did the student refuse the chance to study medicine abroad?

The intelligent student explained that despite going through an interview and being invited to pursue his dream profession, he decided to abandon it after realizing that studying medicine would go against God’s will.

“I did my research and discovered that doctors perform abortions and prescribe contraceptives, while God wants us to give birth. I realized that being a doctor means interfering and working against God’s words,” he explained.

When asked why he did not pursue a career in medicine while continuing to serve God, he said that would not be right.

According to him, people often put their faith in medicine rather than in God. Being a doctor, he felt, would make people value him for science rather than for God.

“Jesus healed people, and his disciples healed in his name, meaning there is power in the name of Jesus. As a saved child of God, I have already been given authority over the spirit,” he added.
