A young Kenyan boy broke the hearts of many after sharing the last message he sent to his beloved sister before discovering she had died in the Gilgil accident that claimed the lives of 11 passengers.

The fatal accident happened on the night of Friday, April 3, in the area of Kariandusi after three hit the trailer, killing almost all the passengers in the Likana Sacco matatu.
In a poignant post on TikTokthe young man shared the painful messages he sent to his sister when he was trying to find out where he was on the day of the tragic event.

In those messages, the worried man asked where his sister was, saying he had been looking for her. For luck Unfortunately, those messages were not answered.
He also shared several photos of his memories with him, with the most touching photos being of his graduation ceremony held in 2025.
Kenyans console the bereaved brother
Many Kenyans were moved by the post, and took to the comments section to console her, while others who knew her sister wrote emotional messages of condolence.

Truck driver in Gilgil accident speaks
In other news, a few hours after the accident, the driver of a truck whose trailer was hit by a matatu said he was driving slowly along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after his car had a mechanical problem.
The driver said he was looking for a safe place to park when he suddenly heard a loud crash. At first, he did not know that the matatu had hit the back of his truck.
When he went to check, he was shocked by the incident he found, as many passengers had died in the accident.
“I was just on the side of the highway, but I decided to continue driving slowly until I found a safe place to park. It all happened suddenly because I heard a loud noise from behind the trailer. I went to check what happened and I realized that the car had hit my trailer. I was very shocked,” he said.
