A middle-aged woman from Rachuonyo North Sub County battling cervical cancer is appealing for help from well-wishers urgently to enable her access treatment.
Evelyn Achieng, a resident of Kibiri Ward, says her family has been impoverished by the disease that she had suffered for years and had left her unable to work and support herself.
Speaking to KNA in Homa Bay town, Achieng lamented that her condition has worsened over time due to lack of specialized medical care due to financial constraints.
“I am experiencing a lot of pain and I am appealing to the government and well-wishers to come to my aid so that I can receive treatment,” she appealed.
Her mother said they have exhausted all the family resources trying to manage her condition.
“We have also exhausted the Social Health Authority (SHA) limits for cancer treatment. We are calling on well-wishers to intervene and support Achieng to enable her access the medication she desperately needs,” the mother said.
