Information provided by Daily Monitor show that Dennis Zziswa was playing the role of Jesus during protest of the ‘Way of the Cross’ at Our Lady of Africa Church on Good Friday.

Photos shared showed the second-year law student from Kampala International University carrying a heavy wooden cross that he would later be tied to during a mock crucifixion.

Another set of photos showed Dennis covered in blood, much to the surprise of many.

Information reaching TUKO.co.ke shows that the young man was also beaten to reflect the beatings that Jesus received on his way to the cross, and that’s when the student received injuries of different degrees.

He was given immediate medical attention by Red Cross staff before being rushed to a clinic for further treatment.

The acting crucifixion of a man evokes mixed feelings

The man’s photos have provoked various comments on social networks. While many expressed their opinions in jest, others questioned whether it was necessary to reach that level of transcendence in acting out the death of Jesus.

Here are some comments:

Mogga Alex said: “He has been sent for treatment? Who will finish the other sessions by Sunday morning during the resurrection? He must die; we do not recognize incomplete processes.”

Jesus of Tongaren speaks

In other news, some time ago, a man claiming to be Jesus of Tongaren responded to critics who wanted him crucified.

He said he does not celebrate the annual Easter celebrations in April, saying they go against the scriptures.

“The proper Easter is celebrated in July. We celebrate it for three days. What they celebrate tomorrow is not in the Bible. In Hebrews 9:29 there is a message that warns us against that,” he said.
