Nakuru: Pastor Jailed After The Guy Who Gave Him A Car Turned On Him And Claimed He Stole It

  • What was presented to Pastor Victor as an answered prayer turned out to be a curse that has haunted him for years
  • It all started when a seemingly kind stranger gifted him a Probox car to support his service, but he turned him away
  • The financier accused him of stealing the car and filed a lawsuit against him, which eventually led to his imprisonment

What started as unexpected hospitality for the pastor of Nakuru it has raised the alarm of mutual trust, betrayal and a justice system that went faster than its defense.

Josephat Mugo Njeri, popularly known as Reverend Victor, was born in 1986 and accepted Christianity in 2004 after being encouraged by a close friend who was rooted in the life of the church.

Victor’s journey to becoming a pastor

He told Itugi TV that his journey of faith continued to grow; five years later, he found love within his church, marrying a fellow church member.

He quickly rose through the ranks and was ordained as an evangelist before graduating to become a pastor.

After serving under a mentor, he was given the tools to start his own ministry, a move he says created tension and resentment among former members of the church who questioned his decision to withdraw.

But it was in 2021 that his life took a different and unexpected turn.

“At that time, I saw no reason to doubt him,” the priest remembers. “I believed it was a real act of kindness.” For three months, the car became part of his daily routine as he waited for paperwork, until one night, during a church vigil, it disappeared.

How Victor was awarded the car

Unexpectedly a stranger contacted him and what seemed like a blessing gifted him a Toyota Probox to support his service work.

According to Pastor Victor, the man explained that the car’s manual would be handed over in three weeks, once the loan that was tied to the car was finished.

Victor is accused by the one who was a blessing to him

Worried, he reported the theft to the person who gave him the car. To his surprise, the response was calm, almost indifferent.

Several days later, the situation turned worse when the same person called him at the police station and demanded that he be paid for the car, claiming it was worth KSh 450,000.

Before the pastor understood the need, detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) stepped in, and the narrative changed dramatically.

Instead of being treated like a victim, Pastor Victor found himself accused of stealing the car that he believed was given to him as a gift.

How Victor ended up in prison

Accused in court of theft, he struggled to defend himself, and paid KSh 25,000 to a lawyer. But in a big blow, the lawyer reportedly failed to submit important documents, leaving his case in a bad state.

As legal fees mounted and debts mounted, the pressure became unbearable.

With no adequate defense and financial problems looming, including the threat of being auctioned, Pastor Victor was eventually sent back to prison.

In another controversial case involving a pastor, Moses was in a church that was using magic and false miracles to get money from the congregation.

The former pastor, who has now been converted, revealed that they worked with the woman and other accomplices to perform rituals disguised as miracles.

Among the most disturbing allegations is that he once dug up a woman’s skull, and made up a story that a witch had come to harm a new member of the church.
