Conflicts within the ODM Party are expected to intensify on Friday, March 27, as rival factions plan parallel rallies in Nairobi, highlighting the growing internal divisions.
A special National Delegates Conference (NDC) has been convened at Jamhuri Stadium in Kibra by the main group, “ODM Linda Ground,” led by acting party leader Oburu Oginga.
The meeting, which is expected to attract at least 3,000 delegates from across the country, aims to endorse his party leadership.
At the same time, a rival group, “Linda Mwananchi”, led by a Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, has rejected the meeting and announced plans to organize a parallel event at Jakaranda Stadium.

Seven entities, including Attorney General Dorcas Oduor and the managing director of Equity Group (MD) James Mwangihave been summoned to appear before a parliamentary committee to explain the alleged loss of billions through the eCitizen platform.
Pesa Flow Limited, Goldrock Ltd, Olive Media Limited, Webmasters Kenya, and Electronic Citizen Solutions are among the other companies that have been summoned and are expected to appear before parliament.
Members of Parliament who serve in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which is chaired by Butere Member of Parliament Tindi Mwale, want the organizations to explain how they were given permission to collect money from Kenyans, how approvals were given, how much money they withhold, and whether they have made any exchanges.
The committee specifically wants the CEO of Equity James Mwangi to testify about the illegal exchange of KSh 6.3 billion income through a bank account that was opened and used for the collection of money.

In the three years leading up to June 2025, nearly 24 million tax stamps were stolen from the Times Tower headquarters vault.
One KRA employee has been dismissed after being linked to the warehouse break-in, while the tax authorities are still investigating six other employees suspected of being involved in the group.
In her report on KRA for the financial year ending June 2025, Auditor General Nancy Gathungu criticized the management of the authority for failing to report some of the thefts to investigative agencies for further action and possible prosecution of the people involved.
According to Gathungu, the tax collector reported three separate incidents in October 2024 where a total of 1.6 million tax stamps for wine and spirits, soft drinks, and water were stolen, costing taxpayers KSh 120.3 million in lost revenue.

Concerns about the rapid growth of criminal operators have prompted the Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) to launch a national crackdown on unlicensed security firms, shutting down 27 firms.
Appearing before the Senate Committee on National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations, PSRA CEO Philip Okello warned that unregulated companies are increasingly infiltrating the sector.
