“I loved him so much. This is when I was cheated on in Mombasa. The signs were there, and I kept ignoring them.
I arrive at the gym, and I park in the basement. I see the ex’s car approaching, with the window down. I prepare to greet him, but I see his trainer driving. I asked him about the whereabouts of the owner of the car, and he told me that he was still in a meeting and would pick him up later. I felt weak immediately.”
Obinna hid his visible sadness with a little humor. He complained that the coach was driving his car, which even he had never done.
“The question in my head was, how did they get to the point where he knows she’s at a meeting and he’s going to pick her up? How was he letting her drive his car and pick her up from meetings?
I went to the gym anyway and tried to exercise as usual, but things were different. The equipment was no longer working. I still feel pain even when I tell that story today.”
