One of the newspapers highlighted the accusations of the former president Uhuru Kenyatta to be involved in the opposition’s mission to defeat President William Ruto in 2027.

The newspaper reported the reconciliation between the deputy leader of the Jubilee party Jeremiah Kioni and the leader of the DCP Rigathi Gachaguawhich shows the great political changes associated with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kioni, who was once a staunch critic of Gachagua, has now embraced him, marking the end of a long-running feud between Jubilee and the DCP over political control of Mount Kenya.
“Riggy G and I recently ate goat together. And now we are in good shape. Wherever we go, we will go as brothers because if we are divided, we will lose,” Kioni said.
He went on to praise Gachagua as an influential man whose slogan of “one term” has resonated nationally, even declaring him the political king of the region.

“For us here in the mountain, we have a leader and I don’t need to explain why. We sat with him and agreed that we must work together, especially here in the mountain,” he added.
Kioni also warned Mt Kenya MPs who supported Gachagua’s removal from power, calling them traitors.
“What they did in Parliament was to betray Gachagua by voting for his removal from power. Nothing else matters. You betray this community, you are done. They will punish you on Election Day,” he said.
Meanwhile, Matiang’i has joined forces with Jubilee and DCP, opening party offices in Nyeri and announcing,
“I have even informed Gachagua that I am here because we are in the same team. Some people are worried because in the last two weeks we have united with Gachagua, Kalonzo and Martha (Karua), and all the united opposition. I announce that I will work with Gachagua.”
This development shows the strategy coordinated by Uhuru, Gachagua, and their allies to strengthen the Mt Kenya vote and counter the influence of the President William Ruto before 2027.

Yesterday, ODM member Evans Amuga went to the Political Parties Dispute Resolution Panel demanding that Ms Winnie not be recognized as the party’s number one special delegate from Nairobi.
He also wants his son, the late ODM leader Raila Odinga, not to be approved as ODM deputy leader.
ODM delegates in Nairobi County, led by their chairman George Aladwa, accepted Winnie as the number one representative or delegate, replacing her late father.
Aladwa, who is also the MP for Makadara, said the move was aimed at ensuring that he is appointed as one of ODM’s deputy leaders.
Amunga, whose case has been described as urgent, has warned that the move to endorse Ms. Winnie undermines democracy within the ODM party.
