After a short silence following the 2022 elections, the musician turned politician resurfaced on social media to claim that he was the rightful winner of the Mathare parliamentary seat after results showed that he lost to ODM’s Anthony Oluoch.
He alleged that the election process was tampered with, claiming that 21 ballot boxes were altered to prevent him from being declared the winner.

Is Bahati running for the Mathare parliamentary seat again?
Although some supporters supported his stance, many social media users criticized the claims, suggesting that he should accept defeat instead of claiming vote rigging.
While attending actress Dorea Chege and DJ Dibul’s daughter’s birthday party, Bahati signaled that he was still planning to get another seat in parliament.
“When I see people I see votes. Bring your votes to Mathare,” he said.
He then advised the couples present, including Dorea and her husband Dibul, on how to deal with marital issues after reuniting.
“The journey is more important than where we’re going or where we want to get to. If they haven’t started fighting with you, you haven’t arrived yet. If there’s nothing they can hate about you, you’re not successful. If today you wake up and start to see that hate, don’t worry. Every day, as long as you grow as a couple, you have to fight. There’s no way that everything will be fine every day, you must have problems because you love each other. I don’t believe in leaving your house, if you need space, give it to the room,” he said.

Why did Bahati cry in 2022?
The musician, once in a press conference with strong emotions, cried while claiming that the Jubilee Party asked him to withdraw his candidacy for the Mathare parliamentary seat.
He explained that the request was made to support Oluoch of ODM, as the state had been designated as an ODM region within the Azimio coalition.
Luck pleaded with the President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga intervened, saying that as a young man, he deserved the chance to represent his community.
