Mary Claire, a 24-year-old woman who was attacked with acid, is still undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

The young singer, who performs in the Sabbath Adventist choir in Nairobi, was said to be on his way home from work when the incident happened.
What happened to Mary Claire?
The suspect, identified as Lukas Ochieng’, reportedly claimed that Claire’s ex-boyfriend had sent him to carry out the attack. Authorities have since arrested both suspects.
In a video that has surfaced on social media, members of Claire’s former choir, Heavenly Echoes, were seen visiting her in hospital.

They stood by her bed and seemed to be worshiping to lift Claire up. They captioned the video with the following words:
“Heavenly Father, we pray that divine healing will touch every heart, renew every mind, and restore every body. Lord, let your healing light illuminate every pain and turn it into peace.”
Light House Nairobi staff also issued a statement condemning the act.

“We express our deep sorrow and sympathy to Mrs. Mary Claire following the recent incident that has caused her pain. The Ministers of the Nairobi Fire Tower do not agree or participate in the alleged act. Such behavior is against our morals and teachings. The person allegedly involved has been suspended from ministry activities pending investigation and legal proceedings.
This suspension does not imply guilt but ensures accountability and transparency. We reaffirm our commitment to integrity, compassion, and Christlike behavior. We promise to continue to support and pray for Mrs. Mary Claire. May God’s peace, mercy, and justice prevail.”

What did Mary Claire say after the acid attack?
In other news, the young woman spoke when the former governor of Nairobi Mike Sonko when he visited her in the hospital.
Sonko has been a staunch fighter against gender-based violence, and assured Claire of his support.
He promised to cover the hospital bills and give what was needed to get his life back.
Claire admitted that she had a good night’s rest, even though she had a problem with one eye.
