Governor of Siaya James Orengo attended an event attended by President William Ruto despite their clear political differences.

Orengo has been a fierce critic of the president due to his opposition to the “broad-based” arrangement with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) team of Linda Ground led by Senator Oburu Oginga.
He has continued to accuse members of Linda Ground for betraying the principles of the party and failing to protect the legacy of the late former leader of the party Raila Odinga.
What did Ruto say about Usenge Pier?
On Tuesday, March 24, Ruto and the governor attended the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of Usenge Pier (Usenge Pier) in the Constituency of Bondo.

The national leader said that the project is an important step in expanding marine infrastructure and opening new opportunities in fishing, transport and regional trade.
“We are investing KSh 9.5 billion to strengthen the activities of the blue economy in Lake Victoria, thereby creating jobs and improving the lives of the residents of the lake area,” said Ruto.
Ruto He also said that the government will establish a rescue center for Siaya fishermen at a cost of KSh 250 million, buy rescue boats worth KSh 70 million, and invest another KSh 70 million in fish ponds to enhance safety, promote fish farming and increase production.
What did James Orengo say to Ruto Siaya?
Speaking at the event which was attended by various leaders, Orengo welcomed Ruto to the county and encouraged him to continue visiting the residents of Siaya regularly.
“We have welcomed you Siaya. Keep coming. I personally have my own politics. Thank you,” he said.

The governor, associated with the ODM group Linda Mwananchi, has been at the forefront of pushing for Ruto’s removal in the next general election.
Responding to his statements, Ruto revealed that they agreed that Kenyans will decide the outcome of the 2027 election.
“We have agreed with Orengo that we should work for Kenyans. Tutam and Wantam will be the people’s decisions,” he said.
The President has recently initiated several development projects in the Nyanza region, citing past discrimination and the need for equitable national development.
Did Orengo call to remove Ruto from power?
In related news, Orengo wanted Ruto to be held accountable for the remarks he called inappropriate for the president during a development visit to Chwele, Bungoma county.
He claimed that the president broke the laws of the constitution following a violent conflict with opposition leaders, saying that the insults fueled hate speech.
Orengo insisted that Ruto’s remarks should be reasons to remove him from power and called for action before the 2027 General Election.
