1. Daily Nation

This newspaper reports about the office of the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki requesting an additional KSh 450 million for hospitality and helicopter rental, according to documents presented to parliament.

The office had already been allocated a generous KSh 523 million but is seeking an additional KSh 350 million, which would push the total to KSh 873 million before the financial year ends in June.

Hospitality covers expenses such as catering and entertainment, while supplementary budget estimates show that KSh100 million has already been spent on helicopter hire for the 2025/26 financial year.

The DP’s office is asking parliamentarians to approve part of the huge request of KSh 1.9 billion, even as the government has reduced funding for other projects, including KSh 4.5 billion from the Equity of Primary Education in Kenya program, KSh 2.8 billion from the Konza data center project, and KSh 1 billion from the program to accelerate the digital economy.
