Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah almost fell down in the mud during his visit to Nyanza region, where President William Ruto he launched various development projects.

Ichung’wah had just disembarked from the plane and was walking with other leaders, including Senator Tom Ojienda, towards the venue of the event when he lost control while trying to fly over the flooded area.
He was helped by other leaders and headed where they were going to witness the launch of various projects.
“We joined President William Ruto on his development tour in Kisumu and Siaya counties, where he laid the foundation stone of the Yala Affordable Housing Project in Gem, inaugurated the Asat Fish Landing Area, established the Holo-Lela Road, and inspected the Seme Teacher Training College, an important investment to develop the economy and society,” he said.
Ruto said the government has invested KSh 9.5 billion in various blue economy projects on the shores of Lake Victoria. Some Kenyans have weighed in on the Ichung’wah experience.

What did Ruto promise in Rusinga Island?
Speaking in Rusinga Island, Ruto promised to build hostels worth KSh 3 billion for students in universities, Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC), and Vocational and Vocational Education and Training (TVETs); developing infrastructure and markets; and ensure equal development.
He also ordered the completion of the Rusinga Island Road, which stretches along Lake Victoria in North Suba Province.

“This road project will unlock the tourism potential of Rusinga Island and accelerate blue economy activities, including the construction of fish landing sites, fish markets, rescue centers and fish farming cages,” Ruto said.
Why did Kithure Kindiki get rained on?
Elsewhere, Deputy President Kithur Kindiki was rained on recently after refusing an umbrella while addressing victims of the 2024 floods in Mai Mahiu, Nakuru.
Kindiki had visited the region to issue title deeds to residents almost two years after the flood.
Kindiki argued that it was wrong to hide while the people he was addressing were being rained on.
