The former minister and his driver disappeared on Saturday, March 21, a few hours before his scheduled interview in Ramogi at 7pm.
Before his disappearance, Tuju had given a report to the police on Saturday that he was followed on Friday, March 20, by a white Land Cruiser 70-series car without a registration number. He issued the report under OB 21/21/03/2026.
DCI said that a security guard at Miotoni Lane found Tuju’s car with hazard lights on and reported the incident to the Karen Police Station, prompting officers to visit the scene.
Tuju, who re-emerged on Monday, March 22 at his home in Karen, has spoken of the great emotional trauma caused to his family following his disappearance.
The former minister said he considers himself blessed to be alive under such conditions.
Addressing journalists at his residence in Karen, he revealed that he abandoned his car and hid after realizing he was being followed.
