Nakhumicha, who currently serves as UN-Habitat’s permanent representative in Nairobi, is seeking to unseat Natembeya in the August 10, 2027 General Election.
The former Minister of Health, who fired the first shot, stabbed Natembeya, accusing him of insulting the President William Ruto.
“I have heard that you (George) have been insulting my president, William Ruto. There is no way I will take a side seat and watch you destroy my wealth. You cannot pour my flour while I am standing there,” said Nakhumicha.

Speaking in Motosiet, Cherany State, Friday, March 20, 2026, during a public meeting, Nakhumicha claimed that his closeness to the head of state has helped bring development to the county.
“I hear that you claim I have a big mouth. Yes, it’s true. This big mouth, George, that has brought KSh 400 million hostel to Saboti. This same mouth you claim I have has brought KSh 50 million to Kabuyefwe. My big mouth has also brought KSh 50 million to Sikhendu. The same big mouth has brought KSh 50 million to KMTC in Kitale. So, my fellow ladies, let me ask you, shall I continue and my big mouth or should I stop using my big mouth? This is my big mouth that will reach William Ruto and explain the challenges of Trans Nzoia county,” he added.
But in a quick response, Governor Natemnbeya emphasized that his job is to criticize the government.
“We must choose leaders who understand the problems of Kenyans. We want to tell those in power that one day, Natembeya will be president. We have said that Ruto is serving his first and last term. He is returning home, not because we hate him, no, but he has made the lives of Kenyans more difficult,” said the county boss.
Natembeya, who was speaking in Namwichula-Matumbei and Kapkomboi wards, where he led the free maize seed distribution programme, claimed that senior government officials have looted everything.
He accused Ruto of spending most of his time on the roofs of cars campaigning across the county while those in government serving under him continued to loot government resources.
Natembeya, who has emerged as a critic of the president, added that he aims to protect the community as governor while also ignoring allegations of tribalism.
But Nakhumicha said that he had found out that Trans Nzoia does not have a governor.
“Our roads are dilapidated. Our hospitals do not have drugs. I have looked at this year’s budget of Trans Nzoia county and saw that here in Motosiet, Governor Natembeya has written that he has brought KSh 86 million here. He has also written in his budget that he has built a very big hospital here near Cherangany Primary School,” claimed Nakhumicha.
According to Nakhumicha, for Trans Nzoia to continue, residents must elect a governor who understands their problems.

Revealing his desire to run for the county governor seat, Nakhumicha urged the residents to choose a leader who will engage the president regularly to ensure more allocation of money.

“I have found that the people who know how to plan their families well are women, and therefore I believe that this county can be run by a woman,” he said further.
He further encouraged the county head to mention his development projects.
“The 6th level hospital you keep talking about was built by former Governor Patrick Khaemba. The market was also started by Khaemba, and now you cannot complete it, but the national government has allocated funds to complete it. The governor has been given KSh 13 billion, but nothing seems to show,” Nakhicha criticized the governor.
Nakhumicha also claimed that Natembeya’s only concern is the national government and urged him to run for president.
He claimed that Natembeya has not been able to solve the county’s issues because he does not have the people at heart.
“This is the reason why I intend to run for the governorship of Trans Nzoia. I am begging you, the people of Motosiet, to have mercy on me and see that Natembeya has lost his way. Now bring a woman to lead them,” he said further.
But on the other hand, without naming names, Governor Natembeya claimed that some people who support the government were going around his county insulting him.
“These people know that I am the only one left to defend Kenyans. I found Trans Nzoia in the ditch. Those people who want to be governors, what have they done to them?” he asked.
