The East African music industry mourns the death of singer Irene Robert.

The multi-talented Tanzanian artist, who has worked with big names in the industry such as Guardian AngelChristina Shusho, Rose Muhando, died on March 20.

Irene is known for songs such as Soja, Moyo Dawa, Nahuwala, Bingwa to name just a few.

What were Irene Robert’s last moments before death?

Irene’s close friend and gospel musician Walter Chilambo announced her death in an emotional message.

Walter recalled his last conversation with Irene, revealing that he had asked her to be his partner’s lover for their wedding, which was scheduled for May.

The gospel singer revealed that he wrote the last song Irene released before her death. Walter also revealed that Irene prayed before her death.

“Sleep safe my good friend, Irene Robert. Thank you for your life my son-in-law, be blessed for your service. The last time you called me you told me to write you a beautiful song and I wrote your last song, One Word, which you released recently. It was the last one you released😭😭😭😭. You were very happy, but today you are gone. I will not see you again. My friend, you left Brian, you asked me to be your besteman at your wedding in May 😭😭😭😭. Today I will not see you again. This It hurt me a lot, Irene. Go in peace, servant of God. You prayed for many hours and then you didn’t wake up. RIP,” he lamented.

A Kenyan motorcyclist, Gustavo, dies in a road accident

In separate news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Gustavo and his wife, Diana Mwai, died in a tragic accident on Sunday, March 15, along the Northern Bypass in Nairobi County.

The lovers will be buried in different counties, Trans Nzoia and Kirinyaga, according to their families.

Gustavo and Diana have left behind a five-month-old child.
