Three Kenyatta University students have died after the bus they were traveling in lost control in Kibwezi on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, Deputy County Commissioner William Tonui has confirmed.
The students were en route to Mombasa when the accident occurred.
According to Evans Peter, a Kenya Red Cross officer in Makueni County, the students had hired the bus from Nairobi for a leisure trip to Mombasa when the accident happened.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Makindu Level 4 Hospital, while those injured are receiving treatment at Kambu Hospital.
