Speaking on Realmz, the sad man said that during their conversation, they were sharing a packet of noodles.
“My older brother finally came back from London yesterday. He didn’t come back with big suitcases or an ‘outdoorsy’ accent. He came back with a small nylon bag and the same shoes he wore 12 years ago,” he said.

“Last night we sat on my thin mattress, sharing one small packet of noodles. The silence between us was louder than the sound of our old noisy fan. We are both in our 30s — no wives, no children, no houses. We are sons of the ‘rich’ living as foreigners in the same city where our father once owned three gas stations.”
What did Daniel’s brother say about their family?
He explained that when their father was alive, they never experienced poverty. But everything changed after his death.
“When he died, people came like eagles. Our uncles — the people our father helped — suddenly claimed that he owed them millions. Because there was no will, they took everything and even removed the cars from the house while we were still mourning,” said Daniel’s brother.
After losing their inheritance, Daniel’s brother left for London hoping to restore the family’s wealth, while he stayed at home doing manual labor despite having a university degree.
“For 12 years, I spent every shilling I earned to help get permits and documents. I was starving for him to succeed,” he said.
What did Daniel do in London?
“Last night, Daniel broke down and cried. He told me, my brother, the more I worked in London, the more money was lost. It was like pouring water into a basket. Every time I saved something, mysterious bills or a police case were swallowing all the money.”
Now, almost 40 years old, the brothers are back at the very beginning.
“We are two graduates starting from scratch; we share one room and one fan. Tears are not stopping as I write this. I am heartbroken. There is no need to pretend anymore — the suffering has exceeded the level I can bear,” added Daniel’s brother.
The man said sometimes he wonders if it is their fault luck just bad or has something to do with their father issues that didn’t end.
“My brother is heartbroken, and I am already tired,” he added.
