He also claimed that he had received an offer from a powerful person to sell the properties, but he refused to sell them.
Tuju added that the powerful man tried to use an agent to get the property through an auction.
The former Minister’s property is linked to a decade-long dispute with the East African Development Bank (EADB) regarding a loan originally taken in 2015 to develop the area.
He added that the man claimed to get the property through an auction that never happened.
The businessman claimed that he was ready to pay the loan owed to him by EADB, but according to him, the bank deliberately refused to pay and his representatives were looking for prime land.
Is Tuju married?
During the interview with NTVthe former minister revealed that he was married to a Kalenjin woman and his property dispute was not tribal.
He claimed that the man who chased him was called Kiprop, but he had nothing against the Kalenjin.
“The first time I bought land in Karen was 40 years ago, and it was KSh 100,000 per acre. I took a loan from the National Bank. I took a loan of KSh 160,000. I was 27 years old. So what happens is that first of all I mentioned the people who came forward in this. The person who came to evict me was Kiprop. I would not like to see a situation where this is a tribal thing. A fraud is a fraud,” he said.
