Good Samaritans have come forward to educate the two children left behind by Captain George Were after he died along with Member of Parliament for Eumurua Dikir, Johana Ng’eno.

Ng’eno lost his life in a helicopter crash in Chepkiep forest along with Were, Carlos Keter, Amos Rotich, Wycliffe Rono, and Nicholas Kosgei.
Were was piloting the plane that crashed shortly after take off.
A Ngeno photographer, identified as Nick Kosgei, shared their last hours, which were recorded silently online without realizing the impending tragedy.
Why was Were’s funeral postponed?
The committee that organized the funeral of the three explained that Captain Were’s funeral would be announced later, as his family was waiting for the return of their relatives from abroad.
“The family will announce the burial date after his children arrive from abroad,” the committee said on Lightcast TV.
Finally, the funeral took place, and it attracted many government officials, among them the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Raymond Omollo, who was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Kapseret. Oscar Sudi and senator Aaron Cheruiyot.
When Omollo went on stage, he said that together with other members of parliament, they would raise KSh 10 million for the education of the children of the deceased pilot.
“My ministers, senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Sudi and I will raise KSh 10 million for the education of Stacy and Joseph,” announced Omollo at the funeral.

Experienced pilot details
In another statement, it revealed new information about Captain Were, and among them was that he was a highly skilled bird who used d to carry famous people.
They had more than 4,000 flight hours, and he had previously been a military pilot; he was only a few months away from retirement.
Boniface Mwangi shared some details of flying with the famous pilot during the Declaration campaigns, noting that he was a serious pilot.
