Alice Wahome: The coffin of her brother-in-law, the minister, collapsed in the grave before the deceased was buried

She had previously featured Gerald, who was affectionately known as Uncle Gee. The minister revealed that his son-in-law died after a short illness.

“Today, we have gathered at Ridgeways Baptist Church to celebrate and honor the wonderful life of my brother-in-law, Gerald Maina, known to many as Uncle Gee, who sadly passed away after a short illness,” he said.

She remembered him as a happy soul who was full of life and excitement, and had a way of lighting up every room.

He touched the hearts of everyone who knew him, according to Wahome.

“Gerald will forever be remembered as a happy soul, full of life and warmth. He had a special way of lighting up every room he entered, touching the hearts of everyone who knew him. To family and friends, he was a source of laughter, kindness, and true love – someone who truly embraced life and always lived with purpose and joy,” she wrote.

The minister noted that he and his family are grateful for the memories they shared and revealed when he will be buried.

He was buried at his home in Nyeri county.

“Although our hearts are full of tragedy, we thank God for the gift of Gerald’s life and the many memories he leaves behind. Gerald will be buried on Monday at his home in Muhoyas, Tetu, Nyeri (Ihururu) county, where family and friends will gather again to give him a peaceful resting place. Rest in peace, Uncle Gee. Your light, your laughter, and your love will remain forever in our hearts.”

During Gerald’s funeral, there was a brief interruption when the casket entered the grave for luck bad, leaving the mourners visibly shaken and grieving.

Family and friends surrounded the grave, singing dirges as the pallbearers placed the casket for its final descent.

The coffin was placed on the supporting pillars, and the pallbearers began to lower it, confident that it was safe. Suddenly, it slid into the tomb, temporarily halting the activity.
