Naiyanoi is the widow of the late Johana Ngeno, former MP for Emurua Dikirii, who died in a helicopter crash on February 28.

On Thursday, March 12, elders visited Naiyanoi at his home in Mogondo to condole with him.

In addition to comforting the widow, the elders were there to discuss the future of Emurua Dikirr, unanimously agreeing to push for Naiyanoi’s candidacy.

This comes after Ngeno’s mother, Mary Temas, insisted that his seat should remain in the family.

He said in an emotional statement that the state leadership should stay with his family as a way of honoring his son’s contributions and the guidance he gave to the community.

“For the president, all the leaders from this area and prominent people of Emurua Dikirr, the seat of MP will not leave our family. The seat will remain in the family,” he said.
