An unemployed Nairobi father will struggle to raise his young daughter after his wife cheats on him, he asks for help

The father of one child was heartbroken and cried while asking for help to find a job or any way to help him stand up again in life and properly take care of his little daughter.

Evans Moriango said he left Thika to Mombasa after getting a job, but he only worked there for three months before he was fired.

With no other means of support, he returned to Nairobi with the help of boda boda drivers who donated money for his fare.

However, life in Nairobi was not what he expected. He could not even afford to rent a room to keep his belongings or buy daily food for himself and his young daughter.

“We have been sleeping on the street with my daughter. Our belongings have been stolen in the last three days since we arrived. We are currently homelesste,” he said.

Evans said he has been looking for work, but his efforts have been fruitless, forcing him to beg on the streets.

He added that returning to his village was not an option, as his mother and other family members chased him away.

He claimed that one time he found his mother and brother burying things that seemed to be related to witchcraft in the house, claiming it was for protection.

The grieving father revealed that his wife left him and their daughter several years ago.

“He saw that I had no money and left. He left me when Mitchelle was still nursing, and I had to do my best to make sure my child gets food and is taken care of,” he said while crying.

As Evans told her story, the little girl was seen trying to wipe away tears, showing the close bond between father and daughter.

Since then, he said life has been very difficult, not sure where their next food will come from. Evans asked for any kind of job, insisting that what he needed was a chance to rebuild his life.

He shared his story with a Nairobi county official Geoffrey Mosiriawho offered to place the little girl in an orphanage while efforts were made to get Evans a job.

Mosiria urged well-meaning Kenyans who are willing to give him regular work to contact him to help for the child.

“We will take this baby girl to the children’s home if her father agrees, and he will also accompany us to see where it is. But if anyone wants to help them, please come forward,” said the county official.
