According to the Member of Parliament for Suba North, the incidents are part of a wider system of lawlessness, warning that the conduct shows the kind of insecurity that has plagued countries where criminal gangs have become strong.

The lawmaker compared the situation to Haiti, which is besieged by gangs, adding that it will require foreign intervention to help Kenya regain control of the country.

“The increase in thug culture tolerated by the authorities will trouble Kenya. 100 thugs were used to try to evict a businessman from Kisumu area. Similar thugs were used to track down Hon Tuju yesterday. Soon, like Haiti, we may need other countries to help us deal with thugs,” he said.
