Kwale, Kenya: A family in Likoni is desperately searching for their 18-year-old son who went missing from their home on February 14.
Speaking to Hussein Khaled, Ramadhan Athman’s mother, Zainab Mwadime, said that on the day of the incident, the young man had gone to see his father in Kongowea, as was customary.
When he arrived in Mangarib, he was given KSh 100 and told to go pray, then eat something, and that was the last time his father saw his son.
“Please let my son return home in this holy month of Ramadan. If you have a son, fear God and please let him return home,” said Zainab.
His uncle, Swaleh Kassim, said they searched everywhere for Kongowea and were assisted by officers from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
“DCI started monitoring his phone line; they said it appeared to be in use in Nairobi. After a few minutes it was switched off, and since that day it has been switched off.”
Seidouf Said Mwachi: “If he is a good child, insha’Allah, may God make it easy for him to return home.”
Patrick Momanyi:Hey notice notice, if you see your child is out with a big phone, take the time to talk to his mother or father. A big phone call is not supposed to defend him, I don’t know my son is not a thief without you knowing they invite death to you.”
Sheban Abdullah: “Parents, we should look at the behavior of our children when they are young, they have a chance to join criminal groups, if not this young rascal will be found, but if you are hiding, then if you are told that he is in Nairobi, he is already far away, let us pray to God inshaaallah.”
Kinee Bonface: “If he is a good young man, don’t worry he will come back because 18 years old is an adult.”
