Linda Wananchi to Release ‘People’s Report’ on 10-Point Agenda, Promising Brutally Honest Update on Raila–Ruto Deal

The ODM Linda Wananchi movement is stepping up to provide an independent look at how the 10-Point Agenda, originally brokered by President William Ruto and former party leader Raila Odinga, is actually moving along.

Deputy party leader Godfrey Osotsi noted that the group intends to publish a “People’s Report” to show the real progress of the reform commitments pledged to Kenyans in the March 7, 2025 agreement.

“Tomorrow, Wednesday, we shall release a People’s Report presenting an independent assessment of the true status of the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda,” Osotsi said yesterday.

Osotsi framed this move as a way to protect ODM’s core values and the various reform promises made to the public. He argued that Kenyans have a right to an honest, unbiased account of the progress made on the National Dialogue Committee framework.

He cautioned that any lack of clarity would dishonor the sacrifices made by citizens who fought for political and economic change.

The Vihiga Senator took aim at certain ODM leaders for spinning misleading stories about the deal. He specifically challenged claims that the agreement lacks a timeline or that March 7 serves only as a symbolic anniversary.

Osotsi argued that this perspective is wrong and threatens the reform goals born from the National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) and the nationwide protests. He reminded everyone that those demonstrations grew from a public demand for better governance and economic accountability.

He insisted that the KICC signing was far more than a political photo op. Instead, he described it as the hard-won result of public pressure and negotiations designed to fix governance flaws, ease economic pain, and protect human rights.

Osotsi highlighted his personal involvement in the negotiations for the March 2025 deal and the follow-up framework the two leaders signed on August 6, 2025.

He explained that before finalizing the agreement, ODM held internal talks where some members suggested turning the partnership into a formal coalition with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA). However, he noted that Odinga turned down the idea, firmly stating that the engagement with President Ruto must prioritize reforms over political alliances.

The senator also shared that the ODM Central Management Committee eventually found that the government had ignored several reform promises. This failure prompted the party to create a five-member oversight team to track the progress of the implementation.

Even with this oversight in place, Osotsi claimed the public mostly receives PR spin instead of clear, steady updates on reform progress. He cautioned that downplaying these commitments threatens the very core values of the ODM party.

“The National Dialogue Committee report and the subsequent 10-Point Agenda Agreement were not political conveniences. They were the result of sustained public agitation and national demand for reforms,” he said.

Osotsi pointed out that Kenyans sacrificed a great deal to win these concessions. He insisted that no one should downplay or twist these promises for cheap political points. He promised that the upcoming “People’s Report” will deliver a blunt, independent look at whether the reforms sparked by the Raila-Ruto talks are actually happening.

This development comes as UDA and ODM lawmakers gathered in Nairobi on Tuesday for a joint parliamentary group meeting. Their main goal was to evaluate and align their efforts on carrying out the 10-Point Agenda, which is a strategic plan outlining ten key priorities for development and reform.
