In northeastern Thailand on Saturday, 37-year-old former singer-songwriter Dujduan Ketsaro made headlines with a unique wedding, marrying two men in one ceremony.

The tripartite marriage brought together Dujduan and her Austrian husbands: Roman, a retired police officer who had lived with her for five years, and Macky, a police officer and Roman’s best friend who was visiting Thailand.

How Dujduan met her husbands

South China Morning Post reports that it all started when the stepmother met Roman while visiting Pattaya, and they have lived together as husband and wife for five years.

When Macky, Roman’s best friend, started to have romantic feelings for Dujduan, the three openly discussed their feelings and reached a compromise before deciding to get married.

He consulted with his parents and children, who agreed to the plan as both men took good care of him and his family.

Each also paid a dowry of 1 million baht (about KSh 4.1 million) to Dujduan’s family and promised to look after her and her children, which include three from a previous marriage and two grandchildren.

Where was Dujduan’s wedding?

Dujduan admits that he is aware that some people may refuse to agree to a three-person marriage, but he believes that happiness and harmony are the most important thing.

What did the Dujduan family say?

Khaosod English adds that his music career also did not work out as expected, leading him to work in Pattaya to support his parents.

His 61-year-old mother gave the unusual marriage her blessing, adding that she hoped the couple would live together in love and harmony.

“I have seen my daughter struggle for many years. Her happiness is very important to me,” he said, stressing that the family does not care about the dowry.

The ceremony was presided over by the Mayor of Saengthon Thian-iew Lueangdechanurak, who described it as the first event of its kind in the area.
