Pastor Charles Wachira has created mixed feelings on social media after he announced the launch of his new church, just a few weeks after he resigned from Jesus Christ Compassionate Ministries (JCM).

Wachira’s withdrawal from the JCM, led by Bishop Muthee Kiengei, occurred on February 22, hours before the President’s controversial visit William Ruto.
Why did Charles Wachira leave JCM?
Before the famous visit, Wachira, who previously led the JCM’s American branch, raised serious concerns on social media about the church’s leadership principles and recent public conversations.
He claimed that such actions disturbed many believers.
Wachira stressed that the church should never appear to be indifferent to the pains of the people, especially when it comes to sensitive national issues.
He specifically referred to the growing voices of Gen Z youth demanding justice, accountability, and moral transparency, highlighting his concerns about the church’s public stance.
Did Charles Wachira launch a new church?
A few weeks after he left, Wachira officially announced the launch of his ministry in the United States.
The inauguration service of God’s Love International Church in Tacoma, United States, was held on Sunday, March 8, from 10 am to 11 am, while online followers were given a way to join closely.
The theme of 2026 in his new church was launched as: “A very fertile year.”
In his announcement, Wachira encouraged the believers, saying: “Tomorrow, we will begin our coronation service. As God instructed Joshua, ‘I will go before you, as I was with Moses; no one will stand against you, no one. Be strong, Joshua, and be strong.'”

The inauguration of the new church in Wachira has created mixed reactions online. While some applauded his courage and his move to start a new service, others questioned the timing and circumstances surrounding his departure from JCM.
