William Ruto Gives KSh 2 Million to Each Family of Nandi Accident Victims

  • Each bereaved family will receive KSh 2 million to help them rebuild after losing their breadwinners
  • Ruto also promised to sponsor one dependent to complete higher education at Kisii University

President William Ruto has given support to the families of the victims of the Nandi helicopter crash.

Six people lost their lives on February 28 after their plane crashed in the Nandi North forest.

Among the dead was the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Johana Ngeno.

A joint funeral service for the five deceased was held at Emurua Dikirr on Friday, 6 March.

Speaking at the funeral, President Ruto acknowledged the concerns raised by the four bereaved families, excluding that of the MP.

Many described the deceased as their only source of livelihood and hope, asking the president for help.

Ruto promised to deal with each case individually, adding to his promise of financial support.

He announced that each family will receive KSh 2 million to help them plan for more support.

Furthermore, the president promised to help one of the victim’s dependents complete his higher education at Kisii University.
