Senator Karungo of Thang’wa has expressed deep sadness following the death of his mother, Lucia Wangui Thang’wa.

The Kiambu senator announced that he passed away on Thursday, March 5.
The 93-year-old mother, who was affectionately known to many as Nyina wa Martin, died after several years of illness and suffered breathing problems in her final moments.
How did Karungo Wa Thang’wa cry for his mother?
He died peacefully in the presence of his son, the senator, with his guardians.
In a touching message he posted publicly, Thang’wa described his mother as a constant source of inspiration despite his illness.
“This afternoon we lost our beloved mother, Lucia Wangui Thang’wa, who is also known to many as Nyina wa Martin. For many years, my mother struggled with dementia.”
The politician sadly asked if his mother ever knew he was a senator.
“I am not even sure if he ever knew that I was elected as Kiambu senator,” he wrote.
The senator showed how his mother and late father raised a large family of 13 children, teaching them the values of honesty, discipline and stability.
His steadfast position as the pillar of the family left a lasting impression, even as dementia dimmed his understanding of his son’s political achievements.
“But every time I saw her, sat with her or talked to her, I found the strength to continue. She may not remember many things in her last years, but for us she continued to be a strong mother who, together with our late father, raised 13 children with love, dedication and discipline. Rest in peace mother. I am still your 13th child.”
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua he also joined in the mourning, praising his exemplary life.
“It is with great sadness that I have received the news of the death of Mama Lucia Wangui Thang’wa,” he said.

He described him as:
“The best example of a hard-working and dedicated mother, who together with her late husband… raised thirteen children.”
Gachagua emphasized his dedication and the legacy he is leaving through his talented children, including the senator and others who achieved success in various fields.

In other news, Kenyans expressed sympathy for Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu after the death of Emurua Member of Parliament Dikirr Johana Ng’eno.
Ng’eno died in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, an accident that killed six people.
Ntutu, who is related to Ng’eno through his wife Nayianoi Ntutu, visited the grieving family to offer condolences and console them.
