The widow of the late Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Johana Ng’eno, Nayianoi Ntutu, bravely paid tribute to him during the memorial service held at AGC Karen.

Nayianoi was escorted to the altar, where she paid her loving tribute to her husband.

What were Nayianoi’s words?

She affectionately called him “Joha” and the husband of her youth. He said that the MP was the love of his life from the beginning.

Their lives had boundless hope when they fell in love, and he made life seem less scary and more beautiful.

“To my dear Joha, the husband of my youth, Joha, even mentioning your name carries all my life in it. You were the love of my early days, when everything was soft and full of hope. We were young, learning life together, and somehow you made everything seem not so scary but more beautiful,” he said.

The young widow said she can still hear the sound of her husband’s laughter, which made the dark days like a celebration.

He congratulated Ng’eno for being a devoted father with the biggest heart.

“Your laughter, oh, your laughter made the dark days like a celebration. I can still hear it, and I believe I will continue to hear it forever. How you loved your children—you adored them. You carried them proudly, you played with them, you looked at them as if they were your greatest achievement. In their eyes you were a hero; in my eyes you were a gentle, devoted father with a very big heart,” he said.

Losing him was like losing the music of his childhood dreams, and he swore that not even death could take away what they had built together.

Nayianoi vowed to keep her husband in her heart forever, saying that he is a part of her life.

“You were my beginning; losing you was like losing the music of my youth—the laughter, the dreams, and the ease of believing that we had infinite time. But even death cannot take away what we built.

It cannot erase the love, memories, or family we created. You will be my Joha forever. Rest in peace, my love; you are always a part of me,” he added.
