The last post of the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Johanna Ngeno, happily celebrating the musician hours before he died in a helicopter crash has surfaced on social media.

A private helicopter crashed in Mosop, Nandi county, at about 4:45pm on Saturday, February 28.
It burst into flames during the collision, killing all six occupants.
Nandi County Police Commander Samuel Mukuusi confirmed the deaths. A few hours before the tragedy, Ngeno was in his state responding to a different disaster.

Was Johanna Ngeno worried?
A heartbreaking video recorded by Emurua MP Dikirr Johanna Ngeno in a helicopter that later crashed has surfaced online, showing the MP sitting next to the pilot as they flew over a river.
In the background, the popular gospel song Upendo Nkone was softly played, with lyrics asking for divine guidance and protection.
He had visited grieving families and joined search teams after two young men were washed away by floodwaters in the Mara River last Sunday night.
In a social media post shared at 1:43 p.m., he expressed deep sympathy for the bereaved families and urged residents to be careful around flooded rivers and roads during the ongoing rainy season.
Locals rushed to the crash site through thick smoke, while pictures and pieces of the burning wreckage quickly spread on social media.
Many Kenyans expressed shock that the lawmaker was active online just hours earlier, while others interpreted the spiritual song in his last video as an ominous prediction.

What was Johanna Ngeno’s last social media post?
In his last post, Ngeno had attended an event to celebrate a local artist.
The ceremony was held in Endebes, Trans Nzoia county.
He was welcomed by a group of singing women and decorated with sinendet, a ceremonial grass. Sinendet is a sacred plant deeply integrated into traditional rituals, symbolizing peace, prosperity, and blessings.
Ngeno looked very happy as he smiled and danced with the locals while the crowd looked at him.
Ngeno said he was attending an event to celebrate a musician.
“Just arrived in Kapkugo, Tulwop Kony, Endebes, to join friends, fans, and fellow leaders in celebrating Artist Kim Kim’s incredible 35 years in the music industry,” he wrote.
Kenyans were saddened by the sudden turn of events, while others prayed for Ngeno’s soul.

In other news, GK Kechwo, a close friend of Ngeno, revealed that he avoided boarding the helicopter which later crashed after the boda boda he was using got injured and delayed him.
He said he missed the flight by only five minutes.
Kechwo also shared an old photo from 2007, remembering that they were friends for almost two decades, as he mourned the tragic loss.
