The Member of Parliament along with five others lost their lives in a helicopter crash that happened on Saturday, February 28, at about 4:45 pm, in Mosop, Nandi County.

In his touching message of condolence, Gachagua said the late MP was a good leader of the Kipsigis community.

The leader of the Democratic Party for the People (DCP) recalled how Ng’eno faced threats and intimidation during his removal from power.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragic death of Johanna Ngeno, Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, in a helicopter accident. Honorable Ngeno was my best friend who faced threats and intimidation when he forced me out of office. We remained close friends until his death. He had a bright future as a leader of the Kipsigis community, and his death has robbed the community of a good leader,” Gachagua said.

The DCP leader demanded a thorough and speedy investigation to determine the cause of the helicopter crash.

“I am calling for a thorough and urgent investigation into the cause of the accident which must be reported. I have led the people of Nyahururu to mourn him,” he said.

At the same time, Gachagua accused bloggers associated with the administration of Kenya First Alliance for falsifying his message of condolence.

According to the former vice president, state bloggers had edited his message to have a different meaning.

“Bloggers in the state are busy deceiving our condolences by editing our message and destroying it so that it has a different meaning. Maybe they know something about the accident. May the soul of Hon. Ng’eno rest in peace,” he said.

In his heartfelt condolence message, the President William Ruto he mentioned Ng’eno as a servant who continues to dedicate himself to the people.

“I have received with great shock and great sadness the news this evening of the death of the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Mr. Johana Ng’eno. My friend, Mr. Ng’eno, was a persistent and dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr, Narok County. He was attentive, vocal, and fearless; a leader who stood firm for justice and equality for all. He will be remembered for the tangible progress achieved under his leadership and his exemplary commitment to developing local talent, especially in music,” Ruto lamented.
