Ruto recently welcomed the young environmentalist to the State House, Nairobi, after he broke the world record of hugging a tree for 72 consecutive hours.
Ruto recognized his commitment to environmental conservation and appointed him as an ambassador for the campaign to plant 15 billion trees.
What did Truphena Muthoni say about the role of the embassy?
In honor of his efforts, he was also awarded the Head of State Commendation medal.
On Tuesday, February 24, Truphena appeared in an interview on Ghetto Radio, where presenter Maji Maji wanted to know more about his role as ambassador.

“So, do you have an office? How do you work?”?” he asked.
“I have the Truphena Muthoni Foundation office,” he said.
The environmentalist admitted that no one in the government called him to discuss the role.
“Regarding the work of the government, in fact, I have not understood it. At the moment, I am continuing my work and helping the government to plant 15 billion trees.”
Truphena said the government has not involved or informed him about his duties, performance indicators, as well as other things like reporting hours.
“When it was announced by the president, that’s when I knew. I wasn’t informed before that. No one told me what my job was.”
The record breaker said he has not participated in any government projects.
“There may be a budget, but I have not been told.”
