Salome John Antpass was on his way home in the evening when he was hit by a prison department car, and died on the spot.

Salome’s husband receives sad news

He was riding a motorcycle when the fatal road accident happened, leaving family and friends in indescribable pain.

Her husband, Kigomba, clearly remembered his last conversation with his wife on that tragic day when she died following the accident.

“I was on my way to Arusha. I called my wife and told her not to leave because I was going to pick her up so that we could return home together. She asked me if I would stay, but I begged her to wait for me. She wanted to return home early so that she would have enough time to prepare and go to work. We agreed, and I let her continue with her plans. I tried to call her at 5:00 p.m. towards 12:00 p.m., but she did not answer. I called her several times, but there was no answer,” he said.

Later, the phone was answered by an unknown person who identified himself as a prison officer and asked Kigomba to identify himself.

Salome’s husband visits Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital

Kigomba introduced himself and spoke to the officer, who gave him the sad news that Salome had died.

“He told me to go to the Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital to confirm the identity of my wife. I was driving at the time and I started driving fast without caution after hearing the news, but God helped me. I called the owner of the house and asked him if he had heard the news of my wife’s death. I told him I had called his phone, but someone else answered it. The owner of the house called his phone and got the same answer.

I arrived at the hospital and went straight to the emergency department. I found prison officers there. We talked for a while before the owner arrived. He told me to go to the morgue to identify the body and confirm if it was Salome’s. We went and saw how badly the body was damaged in the accident,” he said.

VerenaTriphon: “There must have been a mistake on the road that caused a motorcycle to be hit. I once witnessed a bajaji driving recklessly during a convoy to transport prisoners, and it was hit by officers while residents supported the action. It happened in Mwanza. My condolences to the family. It hurts a lot. The bodaboda drivers will lose us.”

Grace Light-o2v:Brother, sorry for the loss of your wife. Those police officers will not live forever; it’s just a matter of time. They can hide from people, but can they hide from God? Our God answers publicly.”

Mary-r1z:Where is the bodaboda driver who carried the deceased? If he is alive, he should come forward and give his details so that the truth is known.”

herrymathayo1159:I’m so sorry brother. May God be with you during this difficult time. If it had been a citizen who hit a police officer, the investigation would have been done quickly. But they consider themselves untouchable. Encourage yourself.”
