Super Metro has launched an internal investigation after one of its passengers traveling from Kitengela to Nairobi was allegedly thrown from their bus.

Joseph Mureithi, aged 25, was reportedly pushed to death by a conductor on Tuesday night, February 24, on the Kitengela-Namanga Highway.
What did the Super Metro company say about the death of Joseph Mureithi?
According to witnesses, the deceased, a petrol attendant at the Athi River station, arrived at the platform just a few meters from Shalom Hospital and boarded the Super Metro bus at about 5pm when the incident happened.
They claimed Mureithi was thrown out after a fight inside the bus.
Super Metro acknowledged the reports involving the vehicle with registration number KDK 060H, saying that the incident shocked the entire management.
“Our vehicle KDK 060H on its way from Kitengela to Nairobi City with 32 passengers was stopped by a group of boda boda drivers who were angry claiming that the conductor had pushed the passenger from the bus. This surprised everyone inside,” the company said.
The company regretted the loss of life and assured the public of their cooperation with the police and the National Transport and Safety Authority as they conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident.
“According to initial reports, the incident resulted in a fatality. As a company we are deeply saddened by the reported deaths, and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those affected,” Super Metro said, adding that the safety of their passengers, employees, and the community is their greatest concern.
Why is Super Metro doing an internal audit?

Management confirmed that it would conduct an internal audit to determine whether company policies or procedures were involved.

“We remain committed to the transparency, accountability, and security of everyone who interacts with our services,” the statement added.
The car was taken to the Athi River Police Station while the driver and conductor were arrested.
Meanwhile, Mureithi had just found a job to help pay her sick mother’s hospital bills, pay her rent, and support her younger brother.
His family demanded justice and a quick investigation into the incident.
