The three girls, who were cousins, had left together on a motorcycle to school, a routine trip that turned into an unimaginable loss.
Diana Muhonja, aunt of the deceased, told TUKO.co.ke that the motorcycle was hit from behind by a truck that was driving at high speed near the school gate.

The motorcycle attendant and one of the students died on the spot. Two other girls were rushed to the Kapsabet County Hospital, where they later died of their injuries despite the efforts of paramedics to save them.
Their bodies are currently in the Kaimosi Friends Hospital mortuary as family, friends and classmates try to cope with the sudden tragedy.
“One of them stayed last Christmas with my children here in Nairobi. Even his clothes are still here,” said the aunt sadly.
In the village of Shipala, the grief is deep and palpable.
Diana described the girls as very close cousins, connected not only by blood but also by dreams of the future. Their deaths have left a void that words cannot describe.
In the hours after the accident, anger spilled onto the streets as residents blocked the busy Kaimosi–Chavakali road.
They stopped transport for several hours protesting what they called the bad condition of the road, saying that its narrowness and lack of adequate maintenance have contributed to frequent fatal accidents.
“Yes, the driver can be at fault for speeding and also the motorcyclist for misjudging, but the road there is very narrow. Many have lost their lives. It should be widened,” said one resident, Geoffrey Shivanga.
Residents are now calling on the authorities to take immediate action to widen and repair the stretch of road, warning that without immediate action, more lives could be lost.
